Legislation for TN schools
We commend the Tennessee legislature and Governor Bill Haslam for enacting a law that allows schools to stock epinephrine auto-injectors for emergency use. This act benefits the children diagnosed with allergies as well as the children who have no known allergies to food or insect stings. Approximately 25 percent of allergic reactions to food at school affect students who have no known history of food allergies. Having epinephrine auto-injectors on hand can save the life of a child experiencing an anaphylactic reaction.
