Becky Basalone
Founder & Executive Director

Becky Basalone is a true Tennessean and has lived in several areas of our beautiful state to now call Knox County her family's home.

Becky founded the Food Allergy Community of East Tennessee (FACET) in 2012 and serves as the Executive Director.  She also served as walk chair of the FARE Walk for Food Allergy in Knoxville from 2013-2015.

To improve community outreach in East Tennessee and national food allergy awareness efforts, she launched Project TEAL through the support of FACET's leadership team.  The greatest success of
Project TEAL to date is Becky's idea of food allergy awareness pumpkins to encourage inclusion for all children during Halloween activities. The Teal Pumpkin Project has been adopted as a new tradition for many families and businesses across the globe.

Anaphylaxis Community Experts

Picture
In an effort to increase awareness of anaphylaxis in East Tennessee, FACETs leadership has joined the national Anaphylaxis Community Experts (ACE) network.  ACE educational programs promote community awareness of anaphylaxis and teach how to recognize and respond immediately to anaphylaxis symptoms. Presentations are available for schools, PTA meetings, parents, churches, emergency responders, and other organizations.

To request an ACE awareness presentation for your group or organization contact FACET.

The ACE program was created by Allergy & Asthma Network and developed in partnership with the American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI) and the National Association of School Nurses, with sponsorship from Mylan Specialty L.P.
