Community Outreach and Training through Special Events

A supportive community is a vital part to living with food allergies.  This is why FACET works to improve the social aspect of food allergy through community outreach.  Our outreach helps raise awareness of food allergy in our community through our Project Teal, which includes the Teal Pumpkin Project at Halloween.

FACET’s child focused events: The Happy Halloween Party, Eggstravaganza and Food-Allergy Friendly Summer Camp help build strong bonds among families and children with food allergies, while also educating individuals without food allergies.

FACET’s educational presentations take a fact-based approach to managing food allergies.  Presentations are available for any audience: educators, caregivers, families, friends, or anyone who wants to learn more about food allergies.  With every educational activity that we host, we increase the number of people in our community that understand the challenges of food allergies, helping make the East Tennessee community more supportive of those managing food allergies.
