FACET's Mission
Our mission is to improve the social aspect of food allergy through support, education, and advocacy as a group of individuals and families affected by food allergies and anaphylaxis.

Peer & Caregiver Support
- Host public quarterly meetings, allergen-free/friendly activities and specialized programs for children with food allergies.
- Provide a support network to individuals and families affected by food allergy and anaphylaxis.
Education & Outreach
- Increase food allergy awareness in communities across East Tennessee.
- Increase food allergy awareness in local restaurants and dining facilities.
- Increase food allergy awareness in local public and private schools, preschools, child care facilities and
after-school programs. - Increase food allergy awareness with first responders, health care providers and school nurses
- Create a library outreach program consisting of food allergy related books for children.
- Support the advancement of food allergy research and organizations that benefit the food allergy community through community outreach initiatives, health care and support group affiliations.
- Expand our reach and increase involvement by preparing more advocates for leadership,
committee and general volunteer opportunities.
Advocacy in Public Policy
- Construct and promote advocacy efforts to influence public policy in all levels of government.
- Implement a course of action that will initiate the State of Tennessee, local school districts and individual schools to comply and improve upon current guidelines and procedures regarding the management of food allergy and emergency protocol.
